Chula Vista, California
Chula Vista is the second largest city in the San Diego area with a population of approximately 244,000. Just 7-1/2 miles from downtown San Diego, Chula Vista is one of America's year-round United States Olympic Training centers.
The town first began as a 5,000 acre development with the first house being built in 1887 and ten more by 1889. Chula Vista can be translated to "beautiful view".
In Chula Vista's past is the production of gun propellant, lemons, and celery. The last of the groves disappeared as the community grew. Thousands of new homes are being built in popular areas such as Otay Ranch, Lomas Verdes, Rancho Del Rey, Eastlake, and Otay Mesa.
